The TinkerMint way

Useful by nature.
Simple by design.

Small tools for the everyday questions that deserve a straightforward answer.

A little less figuring out.

TinkerMint is an independent collection of practical browser-based tools. The idea is simple: make recurring little tasks easier, whether you’re cooking for a different number of people, making sense of a sample, or planning a fresh coat of paint.

Each tool pairs a clear calculation with an explanation, an example, and its limits. The worked guides show the steps in more detail, state their assumptions, and link to relevant measurement, statistical, or practical guidance. Examples are illustrative; they are not product guarantees or evidence about your own data. You don’t need an account, and you don’t need to hand over an email address.

Your numbers stay with you.

The calculators run in your browser. TinkerMint’s application code does not send your ingredient lists, sample statistics, or room measurements to a server.

  • No accounts, analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or tracking cookies are included in this version.
  • Tool inputs are not saved by this site. Reloading the page restores the examples. Your browser may retain form entries through its own features.
  • Using “Copy results” writes the displayed calculation to your device’s clipboard when you click it. “Print results” opens your browser’s print dialog.
  • The hosting provider may process normal connection information such as IP address, requested URL, and device/browser details in service or security logs. This site does not control the provider’s logs.
  • Links to external reference sites open those sites under their own privacy practices. No calculator inputs are included in those links.

To keep things simple, the site loads its own scripts, styles, and illustrations without external font or image services.

Free, with room to grow.

The tools are currently free to use, with no ads. TinkerMint may explore advertising or other ways to support its upkeep in the future. Any change that adds advertising, analytics, or new data handling should be reflected here before those features are enabled.

Helpful calculations. Honest limits.

Results depend on the values you enter and the assumptions described with each tool. Recipe scaling cannot decide cooking time or food safety. Statistical intervals cannot validate a study design. Paint estimates cannot guarantee a product’s real-world coverage.

Use the tools as practical or educational aids. For decisions with important consequences, check the inputs, the method, and the relevant professional or product guidance.
