Know exactly what you are counting.

Business-day planner

Count selected working dates or find a date after a working-day offset, with your own holiday list and a date-by-date audit.

Supported dates: 0001-01-01 to 9999-12-31 in the proleptic Gregorian calendar. This is calendar-date arithmetic, without time zones, times of day or historical local calendar rules.

Limits before you begin: inclusive intervals of at most 3,660 dates; offsets from −1,000 to 1,000 working days, searching at most 3,660 dates. Up to 500 nonblank holiday lines and 20,000 characters. A request outside these limits is rejected, never shortened.

Dates and holiday lists stay in this page. They are not uploaded or saved. Loading the site still makes ordinary hosting requests and may update the aggregate page-view counter.

Your working calendar

Count mode includes each endpoint only if it is a chosen working weekday and not a listed holiday. Offset mode excludes the starting date. An offset of 0 returns the original date even if it is not a working date.

Working weekdays

Paste one YYYY-MM-DD date per line, with no names or comments. Blank lines are ignored. Every invalid line must be corrected. Duplicate dates count once; entries outside the inspected range and holidays on nonworking weekdays are reported separately. No country holidays are added automatically.

Your plan and assumptions

One calendar, two planning questions

Count mode answers how many working dates are inside a closed interval. Offset mode answers which date you reach after moving a chosen number of working days. The starting date counts in the first question only when eligible, and never consumes a day in the second question.

Friday to Monday: 2 working dates

Choose Monday through Friday with no holidays. From Friday 2026-10-16 to Monday 2026-10-19, Friday and Monday count; Saturday and Sunday do not. The result is 2 working dates, compared with 3 elapsed days and 4 inclusive calendar dates in the date calculator.

Five working days after Friday

Start on Friday 2026-10-16 and add 5 working days with Monday through Friday selected. The counted dates are October 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23, so the result is Friday 2026-10-23. Now list 2026-10-19 as a shutdown date: the counted dates become October 20, 21, 22, 23 and 26, giving Monday 2026-10-26.

Make the calendar match your plan

Select only the weekdays that work for this task. A Tuesday-to-Saturday team has a different calendar from a Monday-to-Friday team. At least one weekday must be selected. Use a negative offset to plan backward from a milestone; the starting date is still excluded, and the audit runs backward too.

Paste the exact holiday and shutdown dates that apply to your team or service. A holiday already on a nonworking weekday cannot remove another day. Repeating a holiday cannot remove the same day twice. A valid holiday outside the inspected dates stays visible in the diagnostic list but does not affect this result.

Check the audit before using the date

Expand the audit to see which dates counted and which were skipped. Change one weekday or holiday, recalculate, and compare the decisions. Copy includes the endpoints or signed offset, chosen weekdays and holiday assumptions so another person can reproduce your result.

All dates are whole calendar dates; partial days, time-of-day cutoffs, time zones and automatic country calendars are outside this planner. Contract, legal and employer rules may define working days or deadlines differently. Verify the applicable rule before using a result for a commitment.

Method reference: Microsoft WORKDAY.INTL: custom weekends and holidays. This planner uses an explicit weekday checklist and strict integer offsets, with its own documented bounds and audit. It does not reproduce spreadsheet serial-date systems or historical jurisdiction-specific calendars.
